Revolution 2020 My take

Revolution 2020 cover page
Chetan Bhagat is back after one year hiatus with his new book titled Revolution 2020. I read all of Chetan Bhagat's books and admire him for getting the average Indian to read. He started a mini writing revolution and many wannabes started writing there own novels following the success of 'Five point Someone(FPS)'. I remember reading reading FPS during my college days, I bunked the classes to read the book and became an instant fan of the book as well as the writer. Then came his other books but nothing excited me as FPS. The plots felt repetitive and the characters had a sense of Deja vu. The books that followed FPS did not carry the X-factor that FPS had. Still his novels were successful, thousands of copies were sold and he is undoubtedly the best among the Indian writers. His new Novel Revolution 2020 comes nearly 2 years after his previous book 2 States and thanks to Flipkart I got it on the day it released, there delivery system is really very good.
This book deals with story of three Friends Gopal, Raghav, and Aarti set in the backdrop of Varanasi and narrated by Gopal. Gopal belongs to a lower middle class family and stays with his father, his father's ancestral property is in a legal tangle and they have to manage all there monetary needs with little pension his father gets. Raghav is bright student(an JEE ranker) who wants to be journalist. Aarti a beautiful daughter of the District Magistrate and a wannabe Air Hostess. The story Deals with there Friendship, Love, Ambition. It mainly showcases the corruption that is prevalent in the Indian Education System and how the politicians are using it for there profits. Gopal is the ambitious guy who wants to make money and be rich, Raghav wants to become a journalist and he even sacrifices his engineering career for it. Aarti symbolizes a girl from small time who wants be something but due to restrictions from has to settle for a much smaller thing. There friendship, love,ego,hatred and deceit through various stages of life is depicted.
This book lacks the usual sense of humor that is generally present in a Chetan Bhagat's book. The book starts on a very interesting note but as it moves the story gets predictable. The way the story starts by a character narrating it to the writer and ends reminds you of his earlier book 3 mistakes of my life. Though it takes up issue of corruption in education, it fails to give any solution to the problem. Overall it is not as great a FPS but still I felt it to be better than One night@call center and 2 States.

SHOR IN THE CITY- MY TAKE

Cast- Tushaar Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Sendhil Ramammurthy, Sudeep Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Pitabash Tripaty.
Story, Screenplay- Raj Nidimoru, Krishna D.K, Sita Menon
Directed by- Raj Nidimoru, Krishna D.K

The movie Shor In The City is a Story about three different set of people and there life's during the 9 day Ganesh puja in the city of Mumbai and how there life's get intertwined.
Sendhil ramammurthy returns from america to mumbai to start up a small business, facing trouble from local goons. Sudeep kishan is a aspiring under 22 cricketer, who has to achieve success soon if he wants to marry his girl friend. Tushaar kapoor, pitabash and nikhil dwivedi own a small pirated books print house and one day stumble upon bag containing a bag full of guns and a bomb.
The screenplay of the film is very taut and keeps you engaged throughout. It has a dark comedy running throughout and the city of Mumbai completely incorporated in it. The Background score is apt and the song Saiboo is intoxicating.
Pitabash is the crackpot of the film, he just steals the show with his comedy timing. Some of his funny lines are- "ye bank hijack ho chukka hain", " Do you think we are NOT fools". The scene in the toilet and the scene where they play with bomb were ultimate. Tushaar kapoor gives a fine performance and slowly truns philosophical as the  movie progresses. Sudeep kishan as a young star with difficulties in both professional front and personal front give a normal performance( He was great as antagonist in telugu movie Prasthanam).
The movie does have it's dull moments, it gets slower post interval, but that aside it is an awesome movie that can sure bring a smile on your face and you can walk out of the theaters happily. I liked the director duo's previous film 99 and now with this film became admirer of them. More such kind of cinema is needed.

Here is the theatrical trailer of the film

Harishchandrachi Factory- My opinion

                 image description

Indian film industry- Produces 900 films a year in 20 different languages and employs 30 lakh people. The world’s largest producer of cinema. It all started as a dream of one man- Dhundiraj Govind Phalke also known as Dadasaheb Phalke- Father of Indian cinema, Director of the first Indian silent film- Raja Harishchandra.

Harishchandrachi Factory is 2010 Marathi film part fiction and part true story of Dadasaheb Phalke’s efforts in making the first ever Indian film. It was India’s official entry for 2009 oscars. First lets see the cast and crew of the film.

The movie tell the story of Mr. phalke( nandu yadav) and his struggle to make the first motion picture. Phalke is labelled a maverick by his neighbours as he can’t sustain in a job and keeps changing most often. He has a very supporting wife saraswati phalke ( Vibhavari Deshpande). After having differences with his partner in printing press Phalke leaves it and starts roaming in the street with performing some small magic tricks with his elder son- Madhav Phalke. By chance these two come across a picture hall playing films playing from England. Impressed by this Phalke decides to make film. How he begins his adventure and how he faces all the challenges of having a crew, shooting, releasing and becomes a successful film maker makes an interesting watch.

The performance by the actors is top notch especially by Nandu yadav amd Vibhavari deshpande. Nandu yadav expressions are worth a mention, the way he show cases the enthusiasm when he sees a film for the first time, the way he shows his happiness when learns about motion camera are all very natural and these make this film a worthy watch . The kids performance is also very good. The camera work is world class and back ground music is very much in sync with the film. Editing is good and run time of the movie is just 96 minutes.

Screenplay by Paresh Mokashi is excellent, he should be congratulated for selecting such a novel script and treating it such a wonderful way. There was never a boring point in the film, and he created ample comedy to keep the audience entertained. Utv motion pictures should also be congratulated for selecting this subject and producing it.

This by far the best movie In this year till date, Don’t miss it.

Reincarnation

Reincarnation is believed to occur when the soul or spirit, after the death of the body, comes back to life in a new born body. This phenomenon is also known as transmigration of the soul or metempsychosis.

Now it is time for reincarnation of my blog. In the past I created this blog to be very active with my thoughts and ideas but sadly was not able to do that, hence now I am coming back in a very renovated way.

I will be blogging about films, bikes, music, food and cricket, and a lot of non-sense. Well This time for sure the frequency in my blogging will be very consistent.

I am starting this blog by quoting here a great poem by Rudyard Kipling titled IF

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

A LONG SUMMER AND THOSE LAZY TIMES....

Well this summer was very special for lot of reasons both good and bad... the first gift i got this summer is my bike THE ROYAL ENFIED BULLET 350 C.C. my uncle bought it for me... intially i was very reluctant to take the bike as i always wanted to have KARIZMA but as fate would have i had to adjust with what i got,but i had to admit that within a few days of riding the bike i became a fan of it. the ride was excellent, the thump was superb, but sadly the mileage was very bad.... i liked the bike a lot and not only me even karthik and kushal were liking the bike a lot....
